A method for extraction of anthocyanins and composition thereof

Background:
Pure anthocyanin from grape variety medika:

  • We extracted and isolated pure anthocyanins from grape variety medika
  • The extraction procedure for anthocyanin from medika was optimized
  • The unique combination of anthocyanin from medika was established through HR-LC-MS/MS analysis
  • The antioxidant potential of this anthocyanin was established through DPPH, FRAP or ABTs assays
  • The in-vitro and invivo anticancer activity established against colon cancer. Spray dried formulation of anthocyanins form medika:
  • Micro encapsulated formulation of anthocyanin of 10, 15 and 20% ai was prepared through spray drying
  • The formulation contains different constituents like maltodextrin, gum arabica and citric acid etc.
  • The release kinetics of these formulations at stomach pH, intestinal pH and at 7.4 pH was established
  • The anti-oxidant potential of these formulations were established through DPPH, FRAP or ABTS assays.
