Lac wax policosanol based plant growth regulator formulation

Background
It has been reported in the literature that the long chain fatty alcohols like triacontanol is well known as natural plant growth regulator and used commercially also. It is naturally found in epicuticular waxes and responsible for plant growth promotion activities like growth, yield, photosynthesis, protein synthesis, uptake of water and nutrients. The lac wax policosanol which also is a mixture of octocosanol, triacontanol and dotriacontanol and other lower fatty alcohols was expected to show PGR activity.
Technology Details
The lac wax policosanol is a mixture of octacosanol (C28), triacontanol (C30) and dotriacontanol (C32) and other lower fatty alcohols. The PGR activity of policosanol was evaluated in-vitro. method using wheat seedling germination and field evaluation on fenugreek under potted condition at different concentrations of policosanol and compared with commercial triacontanol formulation.
