Event-specific Visual loop-mediated isothermal amplification for two approved Bt cotton events (MON531, MON15985) and four GM maize events (NK603, MON810, GA21, TC1507)

Technology Details
Event-specific Visual LAMP technology targeting Bt cotton events MON531 (Bollgard" I) and MON15985 (Bollgard II) approved in the country, efficiently detects the target events with the limit of detection (LOD) as low as 0.01%. It allows user-friendly, rapid and cost-efficient detection and identification of these events, where positive amplification is detected visually with change in colour from orange to green, without requiring cumbersome time-consuming gel electrophoretic analysis. Similarly, Event-specific Visual LAMP targeting imported GM maize events, viz., NK603, MON810, GA21, TC1507, allows detection of these events with LOD of 0.1%.
