Construct-specific real-time PCR based technology targeting p355-cry1Ac efficiently detects approved Bt cotton events (MON531, MON15985, Event1 and GFM) in the country. The technology would be utilized for detection of authorized events of Bt cotton in the country for regulatory compliance. Real-time PCR employing TaqMan chemistry allows detection and quantification of Bt cotton events harboring this construct region with Limit of Detection (LOD) of 0.025% and limit of Quantification (LOQ) of 0.5%.
