Background:

This innovation represents a sustainable and natural solution with the potential to reduce the burden on existing antimicrobial drugs and contribute to global efforts to mitigate the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) crisis. AMR occurs when bacteria develop mechanisms to resist the effects of antibiotics, either by reducing intracellular drug concentration or by altering drug targets. Several herbs have demonstrated the ability to inhibit bacterial efflux pumps, antibiotic-degrading enzymes, and biofilm formation. This enhances the efficacy of allopathic drugs and broadens the spectrum of treatment, providing a more comprehensive approach to managing infections, particularly polymicrobial diseases and resistant strains that are difficult to treat with antibiotics alone.

 Technology Details:

This formulation is a novel cost effective nontoxic herbal preparation which facilitates antibiotic mediated killing of microbial pathogens through different biochemical and physiological pathways and prevents development of resistance against antibiotics in bacteria. It also enhances immunity of the host facilitates its clearance from the circulation of infected animals without any toxic or side effect with high therapeutic safety margin.
