The finger millet variety VL mandua 410 released and notified for the states of Uttarakhand, Bihar and Assam. VL Mandua 410 (33.2 q/ha) has shown grain yield superiority of 11.47% over the early duration and best check VL Mandua 376. This variety has maturity duration of 118 days which fell in the same maturity group with the early duration national check VL Mandua 376. VL Mandua 410 exhibited fewer incidences to leaf (grade score 3.10), neck (10.75%) and finger blast (12.43%) and foot rot (15.23%) and fell in the same disease scale category of moderately resistant with early duration national check variety (VL Mandua 376) in all India coordinated trials. The calcium content in the grains of VL Mandua 410 (380.5 mg/100g)   is higher than the elite early check VL Mandua 376 (318.9 mg/100g), and medium duration check GPU 45 (344.8 mg/100g). Therefore, VL Mandua 410 is a suitable variety to cater the need of the farmers in the states of Uttarakhand, Bihar and Assam.
