Herbal ThermoCare (Anti-Transport Stress Herbal feed supplement for Sheep & Goat)

Background:

The climate change associated livestock production research clearly demonstrates the advantage of rearing small ruminants from feed resources depletion perspectives. Heat stress is the major negatively influencing factor for small ruminant production. It not only aXects the productive performance of sheep and goat but also adversely impact their adaptive potential. Thus, heat stress causes severe economic burden on the poor and marginal farmers. Among the various strategies associated with sustainable small ruminant production, nutritional interventions were tipped to highly beneficial and cost eXective. Among the various nutritional interventions, herbal feed additives was considered the best as such supplements not only improved the adaptive potential but also improved the production and product quality.

Technology Details:

Herbal ThermoCare is a specially formulated herbal feed supplement, designed to mitigate the adverse eXects of heat stress in small ruminants, particularly in sheep and goats. This product is a composite mixture of specific herbs with several biologically active compounds that improves immune function and oxidative state of heat stressed sheep. The herbal mixture with selective ingredients is targeted to ensure stress relieving eXects in heat stressed animals. The herbal remedy improves the performance,

antioxidant capacity and immune function of heat stressed sheep. This herbal formulation prepared at optimal ratio can provide heat stress amelioration. The supplementation of Herbal ThermoCare to the sheep during extreme environmental conditions promotes the maintenance of physiological functions by alleviating the negative impacts of heat stress. Dose: Herbal ThermoCare should be mixed with feed at a dose of 1.0 to 1.5 g/Kg from growing to adult stage, respectively. Cost-benefit: Rs. 7.00 to 10.00/- (Seven to ten Rupees for growing & adult stage respectively) per animal.
