ICAR-CICR Jassid Attractant Formulation

Technology details:

Jassid (Amrasca biguttula) are a major sucking pest in cotton, causing significant yield loss. While conventional insecticides have been used for jassid management, their indiscriminate use has led to resistance, environmental pollution, and harm to natural enemies. To provide an eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative, ICAR-CICR developed ICAR-CICR-BVJ, a volatile blend that enhances the attraction efficiency of yellow sticky traps (YSTs) by 197%, significantly improving jassid management. This innovative solution does not have any harmful effects on plant growth, soil nutrient availability, and soil biology, offering sustainable pest control and wider commercial applications in agriculture.
