ICAR-CIAE Diagnostic kit for identification of soy milk in dairy milk and paneer

Background

Soymilk is considered as an adulterant of milk and milk powder. Addition of soymilk is generally done to boost solids-not-fat content or nitrogen content of milk, a metric that is also used for determining the price of milk. Addition of such proteins to bovine milk causes detrimental effects to raw materials in downstream processes followed in dairy industries. Thus, a need was felt to develop a rapid detection kit for soybean protein by Lateral flow assay.

Technology Details01

The soy milk mixed in dairy milk will be identified by formation of anti-antibody complex. The colour at particular line will indicate the presence of soy milk.
